Dan is a co-founder and Director of Prosemino Ltd. He is an expert in electrochemical power systems with over 25 years of experience and is one of the highest published authors in the world in the combined areas of fuel cells, batteries, and supercapacitors.
Dan is the CEO of Sention Technologies, a Prosemino investee company. He also holds a Chair with the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has raised over £45 million of academic research income at UCL and has been acknowledged through awards such as the DeNora Prize (ISE), Baker Medal (ICE), and Princess Royal Silver Medal from the Royal Academy of Engineering for his work in translating academic discoveries into commercial impact.
He is also listed in the Stanford top 2% of scientists in the world and recognized by the Royal Academy of Engineering and TFL as an ‘Engineering Icon’ in the commemorative tube map of 274 leading engineers, past and present.
Dan is passionate about realizing the ‘age of electrochemical power’ and accelerating e-chem technology to market. He has co-cofounded seven companies that have raised over £84 million in investments and grants and employ over 150 people across the UK.

He is a mining entrepreneur with a successful track record over 25 years in developing, investing, financing, constructing and operating businesses in the natural resources sector across Africa. He is the Founder and Chairman of Pella Resources, an African focused natural resource investment and development firm. He has founded and held Executive positions in several publicly traded and private mining and energy corporation.
His vision for a clean energy future has been instrumental in successfully growing and investing in metal and clean energy technologies, including Li-Cycle Corp., the largest recycler of lithium-ion batteries in North America, as well as Li-Metal Corp., a company that produces lithium metal in a patented process and is working on new solid state lithium battery technologies.

Professor Paul Shearing
Paul is founder and Director of Prosemino Ltd, Statutory Professor in Sustainable Energy Engineering and Director of The ZERO Institute at The University of Oxford. He holds the Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Battery Technologies.
He is an expert in batteries, electrochemical engineering and energy materials and has published over 450 scientific articles over the past decade. During his career, Paul has raised over £50 million in research funding and is the recipient of The Royal Academy of Engineering Silver Medal. He is also a founding investigator of the UK’s Faraday Institution, where he leads the LiSTAR programme investigating Li-Sulfur battery technologies, and the SAFEBATT programme on battery safety.

Professor Chris Howard
Chris is a founder and Director of Prosemino Ltd, Professor of Materials Physics at UCL in the Department of Physics & Astronomy and Co-Director of the Centre for Doctoral Training in the Advanced Characterisation of Materials.
He specialises in the creation and optimisation of next generation materials, especially for energy applications, and has invented a number of processes that can scale to industrial level, for which he holds a portfolio of patents.
Chris has extensive experience of working with industry, including multi-nationals, consulting on nanomaterials research and innovation. Since his academic appointment at UCL, he has raised over £10 million of funding to support his research, training and commercially focused activities.
General Manager and Director
Marcus is a Director of Prosemino Ltd.
He previously worked at an aerospace start-up specialising in hydrogen propulsion systems following his MEng in Chemical Engineering. As Lead Engineer he led the development of a novel 70kW high-altitude fuel cell system. He then worked in the automotive sector developing hydrogen systems at Arrival as a Lead Systems Engineer.
Marcus left Arrival in 2021 to co-found Energy Revolution Ventures, an early-stage Energy Tech VC, and join Prosemino to build out the incubator program. He has a 5-year track record developing hydrogen systems for commercial applications in lean environments.
